Rice Up is a lovely ethical and vegan store on the edge of the park in Southampton. It’s not very big but there is a lot in there, and it is worth exploring to find new things to try. They do fresh fruit and vegetables, a large selection of fridge products, some frozen goodies, some refillable dry food and lots of tins and boxes… and lots of sweets including MARSHMALLOWS! You can see I’m pretty excited about this one… It feels like I hadn’t eaten marshmallows in decades. I love them. There is also a range of household products and even some cosmetics, of course all cruelty-free and vegan.

Most importantly, there is a fresh counter with savoury meals and some freshly made cakes. Their shop is right next to the vegan restaurant Thrive, so we love to cycle to town on a Saturday morning, have a big breakfast at Thrive to get calories in for the way back and then do our shopping at Rice Up.

During the covid-19 crisis Rice Up is still open and they also deliver food to your door. Please click here to see the details on their facebook page.
We just had an order delivered and it worked very well. We got all the things we usually buy when we visit the shop, including flour, which seems to be so hard to get by these days.
