KYPRIS anti-oxidant dew

Kypris antioxidant dew is a milky fluid packed with antioxidants (that one’s obvious) and soothing, hydrating, calming and brightening ingredients.

What it does, according to the brand:

“The antioxidant Dew restores strength, vitality and radiance to skin with clinically proven actives such as phospholipid encapsulated antioxidants that target and quench free radicals while select botanicals calm and soothe skin-degrading inflammation. Use as a lightweight multi action moisturizer or as a potent layering piece in your skin care wardrobe.”

My experience:

I am always worried about using moisturiser in the morning, because my oily skin seems to be even shinier when properly moisturised (instead of being grateful and behaving itself) And I have tried many. It’s ok in the evening before going to bed, because then I don’t have to worry about going into a meeting and having the whole room reflected in my face. Morning is more of a challenge…

The problem is, as well as being on the oily side, my skin also gets dehydrated…

So skipping the moisturiser altogether doesn’t do me any good. Somebody suggested a moisturising toner. My skin absolutely hates toners. I have tried hundreds, because I like the idea of getting hydration with the more liquid, sinking in formula. I get irritation, shine, redness, spots, tightness and general overall major discomfort.

Then I tried the antioxidant dew. Not as thick as a moisturising cream, not as watery as a toner, lovely bottle (I know, this shouldn’t influence me, but have you seen that bottle?), it seemed promising.

I have been using it for about a couple of weeks and I love it. It does moisturise my dehydrated skin, but it doesn’t make it shiny as a belated reaction. It doesn’t irritate, it dries quickly and make-up goes on top smoothly.

I use it in the morning after washing my face, either pure if I am in a hurry or if my skin is behaving, or as a mixing base for something else if I need extra calming or extra moisturising. I like the flexibility. I usually use it all over my face and then dribble a little more in my palm, add a couple of drops of one of the Odacité oils, mix them well and massage into the driest parts of my face and on my neck.

I also use it in the evening, mixed with whichever oil I need, sometimes for hydrating, sometimes for calming or for fighting an impeding break out.

The smell is faint and pleasant and doesn’t clash with the oils I mix into it.

Within a few days, this dew had become a staple of my routine and I would really miss it if I had to part with it.

Good sides: moisturising but lightweight and not shine enhancing, a good base for oils

Bad sides: the dropper is awkward and when I slide it back inside the bottle, I always get some product spilling on the outside. I have to clean it every couple of days or it gets really yucky.

Considering the main ingredient is glycerin, this is a bit expensive. Nevertheless, I will make sure I buy my next bottle before this one ends.

Will I repurchase? Definitely yes
